he Smart Cat SC850 has been developed to compete with mono-hull market as we believe there are no reasonably priced catamarans in that sector, even though catamaran can accommodate more people sitting around the dining table or having a party than a monohull
Shipping is quite tricky and costly for catamaran boats because of the larger volume and added cost of shipping.
However, we developed new way to assemble the boat so we could load the boat into two units of 40ft HQ container.
We designed the boat as 28ft long in LOA so the boat can be loaded into container easily and kept the minimum size for user’s sailing convenience.
In terms of LOA, Smart Cat SC850 is 7ft shorter than other competing models which gives you excellent control and 17.4ft of beam will provide you very roomy cockpit.
Smart Cat SC850 can be shipped anywhere, at a lower cost of shipping than finished product transportation.
A flat deck design and minimized equipment makes it easy for users to actively move around with extra space to put items.
The forward deck features a 6 foot trampoline that can be used for adjusting the trim or lounging coupled with an
wide step structure that can be used as comfortable seats and lounge.
And there will be a targa made of pipes and FRP seats and cushions for sitting. The hard top can also be used to mount solar panels.

GENERAL
The overall finish of the SCOM TECH SC850 will be consistent with a luxury world-standard yacht of this size and type. Only very high quality equipment is used throughout this vessel. The overall aim is for a level of construction, workmanship, equipment, fitout and style comparable to the best boats available in the market at this range.
EXTERIOR/LAMINATE
Finish : Gelcoat finish with moulded-in non-slip surface on deck areas. Hull Laminate : Poly Ester resin is used in manufacture of the hulls for the fibreglass laminate between the gelcoat and the foam core.
HARDTOP
Fiber glass hardtop is fitted with fixed toughened glass side windows and 2 x forward LEWMAR offshore hatches. Aft drop curtain with combination zip & press stud closures.
CENTRE COCKPIT
- Dining table: F/G in centre cockpit. Folds down to create double bed.
- Upholstered saloon cushions and backrests.
FORWARD BEAM. CATWALK AND TRAMPOLINES
- Forward beam section 125 x 3mm. Painted. Adjustable pelican striker and cable.
- 1 x Mooring rollers above foredeck.
- 1 x Anchor roller on deck. Permanent stowage position for 35lb Plough (CQR type) anchor. (cheeks 75mm high).
- Catwalk in foam-sandwich fibreglass. Supported by aluminium frame 100mm x 50mm.
